Award-winning actor and stone-cold fox Idris Elba has played a host of amazing characters in his time–a Baltimore drug kingpin, broody London detective, evil CGI tiger, and dystopian Gunslinger, to name a few–but last night he took on his most challenging role yet: Australian DJ.
(Ok, probs not his most challenging. Arguably not even that challenging at all, considering he’s an accomplished DJ. That was major hyperbole. BUT STILL.)
Few may be aware of the thespian’s side gig spinning sick beats, but Elba (aka Big ‘Driis) has DJed around the globe at festivals like Glastonbury and Ibiza Rocks–and he’s even released two albums. So last night, while filming in Australia for THOR: RAGNAROK, Elba made a Thirsty Thursday appearance at Sydney nightclub Goodbar and wowed the crowd with his turn table skills.
Fans began lining up two hours beforehand to get into the intimate club venue, but many still couldn’t squeeze in. Fans that did manage to gain entrance actually got within touching distance (!!!!) of the man (the myth, the legend) and enjoyed an amazing deep-house set.
