Think you know a clever teenage who has a few college credits? This gal probably tops most overachievers you know,
Raven Osborne, 18 completed college while in high school and already has a solid entry level job “out of college” – teaching at her current high school in Indiana.
“When I was a younger, I was labeled with a learning disability,” said Osborne.
She said it was sometimes hard being in both high school and college, but that he mom encouraged her. She even had a part-time job at night! She took the midnight shift at a daycare for parents who work at night. She eventually had to quit due to her schedule but it was relevant to what she studied, she ended up with a bachelor’s degree in sociology with a minor in early childhood education from Purdue University Northwest on May 5, and she will get her high school diploma May 22nd.
She was able to enroll in Purdue after obtaining her associates degree taking community college classes her freshman year. She is the first student from 21st Century Charter School in Cary, Indiana to obtain a BA while in high school. Her starting teaching salary is 30k which isn’t bad for a teen. When I was a teenager, I was a carnie for minimum wage.
