It’s been nigh impossible for a year now–barring blood sacrifice or obscene amounts of cash–to get tickets to Broadway’s first historical hip-hopera, HAMILTON, which snagged a whopping 11 awards at the Tony’s last week.
But much like in the revolution that inspired the play, the tides of change are upon us, as the show sets the revolving door of cast members in motion. Now three of the show’s stars have announced that they will be departing the production in July, including Lin-Manuel Miranda, the musical’s writer/composer AND titular hero.
And who better to replace him than Pinot Noir enthusiast and part-time werewolf Titus Andromedon? THE UNBREAKABLE KIMMY SCHMIDT released this bid for Emmy consideration as a meta-bid for fame from Titus (the Netflix series’ resident struggling actor/purveyor of fabulousness). Titus may not be prepared, persay (WHO THE HELL CAN ACTUALLY AFFORD TO SEE THIS MUSICAL?), but he’s going to give it his Broadway best, goddamnit.
It’s every bit as wonderful as you’d hope. Check it out:
