For 3 years, Michelle Arendas and Josh Avsec, both students at Kent State University, messaged each other on Tinder. However, this was no ordinary exchange. The two only responded to each other every two months for 3 years in a row, and believe it or not, they still have not met each other.
Michelle and Josh first matched up in September 2014, and Josh messaged Michelle, “Hey Michelle.” Michelle responded two months later in November with, “Hey sorry my phone died!” According to BuzzFeed, Michelle deleted the app multiple times, so she often missed messages. Since she saw the message so late, she decided to respond with something funny. Josh decided to go along with the joke and responded back to her two months later.
The exchange kept up for three years. Finally, Josh shared their Tinder messages on Twitter, and within an hour, his tweet had been retweeted hundreds of times.
Hahahaha one day I'm going to meet this girl and it's going to be epic. Look at the dates of our tinder texts. pic.twitter.com/DASQK4c5cX

Although he was a bit embarrassed at first, Josh took the opportunity to reach out to Michelle for real this time. They exchanged numbers and have been texting since. He told BuzzFeed, laughing, “I only found out her last name 24 hours ago.”
They still have not met yet, but Tinder just found out about their exchange through Twitter and offered to send them anywhere to finally meet IRL.

Michelle and Josh have decided on Maui, and now Tinder is setting up plans to fly them there.
Really… it can’t get any better than this!
This is like some sort of dream. A date in Hawaii is far more epic than I could have ever imagined. Thank you so much! https://t.co/gQD8QffLKq
