Cruel whimsy and whimsical cruelty abound in the new teaser for Netflix’s forthcoming A SERIES OF UNFORTUNATE EVENTS, an 8-part series based on Lemony Snicket’s misanthropic kids books of the same (apt) name.
In the teaser, an oddly somber Patrick Warburton plays Lemony Snicket, strolling through the show’s empty sets and soundstages to deliver an ominous message: don’t watch this show.
Like seriously, don’t. It could have medical repurcussions. Why do you think the set’s been abandoned? The cast and crew are all out sick with a bad case of melancholia–save that one creep laughing maniacally in the shadows. I think we can guess who.
Check it out:
All eight episodes of the series will be released for streaming in January–on Friday the 13th, because obviously. And while the show promises naught but endless sorrow (and Neil Patrick Harris), I guess I must be a glutton for misery–because there’s no way I’m missing it.
