Last year Marvel came out with a set of variant covers that riffed on some of the most popular hip-hop albums of all time. You can check that out here.
This year they continued the series, starting with a set that included Chance the Rapper, among others. And now they’re back again with another set of parody-artwork, this time taking on the likes of Dr. Dre’s Compton, Nas’ Life is Good, Missy Elliott’s Under Construction, EPMD’s Back in Business, and Prodigy and Alchemist’s Albert Einstein.
They are really dope, and it’s cool to see such a strange crossover working so well. It isn’t hip-hops first cross with Marvel (‘specially with rappers like MF Doom or Ghostface Killa AKA Tony Starks) but it probably marks one of the first times Marvel (as a company) has hit the rap game back.
