The live-action remake of the Lion King has been fully cast, with Donald Glover and Beyoncé taking the lead roles of Simba and Nala respectively.
The classic 1994 movie is being directed by Jon Favreu, following up his successful Jungle Book remake. Though the new film is not set to hit theaters until the summer of 2019, the speculation around Beyoncé’s casting had been floated around for a while.

The primary cast announces is full of A-list actors such as James Earl Jones, Alfre Woodard and Seth Rogan. Disney announced that it was creating the live-action film just last year.
Twitter has had a field day with the announcement, with tweets full of excitement over the overall movie as well as Beyoncé’s casting.
I am glad the Lion King is being rebooted so we can remember Scar can only be President for so long before Beyoncé shows up & fixes it

I totally get complex gameplay mechanics, but I do not for the life of me know how a live action Lion King is going to work.

Questions about how the film will be shot remain unanswered. Unlike other recent remakes such as Beauty and the Beast and Cinderella, there are no human characters in the Lion King. Never the less, the live-action will likely feature some of the original songs as it is being dubbed a musical. Whether Beyoncé will lend her vocals to the film is still unknown.
To this day, the original Lion King remains of the highest grossing animated films of all time.
