It was recently announced that Disney will continue to reformat our childhoods for modern audiences, now taking the form of our precious and much coveted “The Lion King.”
John Favreau, who recently helmed ‘The Jungle Book‘, will be returning for a live-action remake of The Lion King, serving up a very similar treatment for willing audiences (in which there are many.) But for those of us who are still in denial, still not ready to accept a life-like Timon and Pumba…
…we have an alternative.
Indiewire has recently unearthed a YouTube gem.: a special-feature making-of documentary off of the original Lazerdisc release! Narrated by Robert Guillaume who voiced Rafiki, the doc splices footage from the film with interviews of crew members like animators and producers, and even many of the actors in the film have a part in the doc (including Simba stars Mathew Broderick and JTT.)
