Charles Dickens’ A CHRISTMAS CAROL has endured for almost 200 years as a classic tale of Christmas spirit lost and found–and it’s aged really fucking well. “Scrooge” is still the universal shorthand for greedy, grumpy, holiday-hating asshole; “Bah, humbug” still the epithet of choice for said holiday-hating assholes. Since 1843, countless plays and films have adapted the film for stage and screen, and since the advent of episodic TV, modern versions of the story have made their mark in Christmas episodes of every other sitcom that ever graced the airwaves.
As is the way with the Internet, intrepid Youtuber Heath Waterman decided to combine all of these varying versions of the work into a single coherent film, the story flowing seamlessly from black-and-white films, animated flicks, staged readings, and more in a combination of visuals and voice-over.
