These days, it seems like the only way to meet people is through their social media accounts. Because of that, meeting people seems to be left up to a game of chance. Back in the summer of 2014, a wedding invitation called for Llia Apostolou plus one; the only problem was, she didn’t have anyone to bring! Searching for a last minute date, Llia turned to Twitter for help:
In no time, there were hundreds of retweets and replies. Llia never expected such a widespread response, but after 15 minutes, one reply in particular stood out to her: user @philgibson01, Phil Gibson. Not only did he say that he would go, but the conversation did not end there. The two continued talking for the next hour!
The two ended up following each other on Twitter shortly after that. She eventually did go to the wedding, but she went alone for reasons she has not revealed. Later in the week, however, she and Phil finally met in person!
Now, 3 years later, the two held true to their original tweets and tied the knot!
At first, users such as @waynesmith1971 believed that this might just be an elaborate prank, but Llia promised that their love was the real deal!
Soon after, Twitter fell in love with these two and we have, too!
