Just over a week after the release of Rihanna’s new cosmetic line, Fenty Beauty, and retailers can’t keep certain shades in stock. Which, naturally, has people freaking out.
With an unheard of 40 different shades available, this new line covers every color shade anyone would need. Ranging from the lightest of light to the darkest of dark, which no other company offers. Something else unique about the new brand? It has no pallets, mascaras, or eyeliners.
“I wanted women to feel included… to make sure that all skin tones were covered.” Said Rihanna, who named the company after her last name. “I have 100% involvement in this process.”
In the past cosmetic companies have shied away from a wide variety of shade options, especially in darker tones, which is why Fenty Beauty is making headlines. Their excuse? Stating that darker shades won’t sell. But if Rihanna’s new line is any indication into what the public really wants, and what actually does sell, it looks like other cosmetic companies will soon need to follow suit.
One makeup artist, Benjamin Puckey, posted a photo on Instagram which shows all of the darker shades of the new line completely gone. “The dark Fenty Beauty foundation shades are sold out everywhere! This is for all the makeup brands who think the dark shades won’t sell.” Puckey captioned with the photo. While the lighter shades still remained, the picture spoke volumes.
While numerous other photos have surfaced on social media have shown darker shades of the new line completely sold out in retailers, never fear, there are some still available online. FentyBeauty.com and Sephora.com both have numerous shades available in stock. But if you do find you are one who needs a sold out shade, not to worry, this line is not going away anytime soon. Just be patient, because your shade will be restocked soon enough. Just keep an eye out.
