The stock photo is an art form unparalleled by most of what we see in this post-post-modern world–fascinating character studies that fearlessly depict the realities of modern life: from “diverse college students pointing at laptop screen” and “boy hugging cactus” to “angry woman holding up fist” and “teens sniffing flip-flop.”
And now (thank GOD) the stock photo is taking on the fashion world. Adobe (the brand behind workplace staples like Reader and Photoshop) is promoting their own royalty-free stock photo service with an American Apparel-esque line of stock photo t-shirts featuring the most ~natural~ and ~relatable~ everyday moments.
Unfortunately, this is a purely promotional shtick–you can’t actually buy these shirts. But you know some fucking enterprising hipster is going to take this idea and run with it. In which case: SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY.
