It can’t get any better than this. Preschool sweethearts, Matt Grodsky and Laura Scheel, have been a happily married couple since 2016. They go way way back to when they were in the same preschool class in Phoenix.
In preschool, Matt and Laura were best friends. Matt told the Instagram account “The Way We Met” that, “We have fond memories of playing hide-and-go-seek, chasing after each other on the playground, and mischievously staying up during nap time.” However, even at age 3, Matt knew that he wanted to marry Laura someday.
“One of my very first memories is of being 3 years old and standing up in front of my pre-school class, declaring that I would marry her someday … I was enamored with Laura as a child, and I still am to this day.”
After their preschool days though, Laura and Matt lost touch. They attended different elementary and middle schools, and didn’t reconnect until high school. Through a mutual friend, Laura and Matt were able to get in touch, and within two weeks, they were officially dating.
The couple stayed together all through high school and college despite attending different high schools and going to colleges in different states.
On May 23rd, 2015, Matt proposed to Laura, right in front of their preschool classroom.
“I decided to stay true to my preschool pledge and make Laura my wife. I proposed to her at the place it all began… our preschool classroom.”
The couple tied the knot on December 30, 2016, proving that childhood dreams can come true.
